Maybe I need to listen better...
<< <i>He was before my time but I heard he is grumpy when approached, and very short with you at autograph sessions. >>
I witnessed him in person at the National in '92.
He signed a ball for my son - didn't look up at him - didn't even say something to him. Lucky my son was too young to realize he was being shit on!

Pulled this a couple years ago. Sold it, I think for $350. I hate the way Mays has changed his autograph over the years.

Here's one of his earlier sigs when ya could read the W in Willie better.
This card was made for me compliments of Knuckles - who's been very busy at work but will be around more in the near future.
He's a good guy - a great hockey contributor - and makes the slickest "custom" cards on the planet!

I think my favorites are the 1960 All-Star and 1964 Stand Up. I also love the 1961, if only because it looks like a Gem Mint 10 if you don't see the surface wrinkle.
Nice '8' like corners, the centering brought this down to a 6.

These are fantastic! Can you give us a little background on them? How rare? How valuable? How distributed?
Thanks for sharing, Bob...I love your oddball stuff!

I think they're quite rare, although not as rare as the '68s. I would guess that they were intended to be pin-back buttons, similar to the ones issued in 1956 but a bit larger. They were never publicly distributed, and the few that are in circulation were cut from sheets (as these were). These might be the only ones graded. I bought my sets in a Robert Edwards auction a few years ago. I'm thinking I paid around $14K for the two sheets.

I also had him sign a ball and 8x10, but this was the first of my “that’s a little different” signatures. I think I had just started High School so was still pretty young at the time, he was scheduled to be at a local mall for some unknown reason and I decided this would be cool to frame. (nearly 20 years later and still no frame BTW hehehe)
The Shirt itself is from the Smithsonian “Diamonds Are Forever” traveling exhibit from I think about 1989. I had it bagged and boxed away, seeing it again makes me wonder where the book might be though…

{Edit} Opps, forgot to say:
Say Hey, Happy Birthday! That “Catch” might have destroyed my team, but hard to deny you’re one of the best to ever step on the field!

hmm sounds like baroid bondz....
dont these players know its the fans that pay their [ridiculous] salaries.....last time i checked, a baseball player didnt save anyone's life, or get someone out of pain....maybe we should re-evaluate salaries in this country and reallocate funds to people who do good every day, and dont just PLAY A GAME
