Do any of you love to collect cards of a sport you're not really a fan of?

By that I mean this. I love to collect baseball cards and I'm very fascinated by baseball history. The thing is though, for the most part, I just do not have the patience to sit down and watch an actual game (unless it's a really historic one or All-Star/World Series or something). But yet I'm very fascinated with baseball cards and complete sets of 'em.

Anyone else feel the same way?

no, I love baseball and I collect baseball

I own football and b-ball rookie cards that are big names but do not really collect them, but I do not really like the sport. I will watch them but baseball is more of my passion
  • I think it would be really hard to collect something I am not a "fan of"

I collect baseball but could (basically) care less about the sport. strange isn't it. 99% of the cards I collect are players I have never seen play in a game.

I just started a '55 Topps All American set, but dislike football for the most part. It's a cool design though, and the opportunity arose for a partial set, so I went for it.
I guess the sickness of being a collector has very few limitations.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

I've been getting into golf and boxing vintage cards recently, but for the most part don't care about either of these too much right now. I guess vintage collections across the board could have a similar mindset, since if you're collecting cards of Ty Cobb and Christy Mathewson, you're not cheering for them on the field...
  • Baseball, football, hockey.

Dislike the game of basketball but do have a few cards that I consider very neat.

Non-sport cards are somewhat intriguing, as well.

    Collect whatever you like.

    Just my opinion.

Well I happen to love baseball, but I also collect players I have never seen play and have been retired for years.

    Not really.

  • I started collecting in 1987 stopped in 1992 ish.

    Started collecting again in 1999

Never watched more than 10 minutes of a game or followed anybody. I couldnt find a team and didnt want to just "pick" one. I didnt have much interest in it.

Went to my 1st MLB game in May 2006 and the family and I turned into hardcore Dodger fans immediately. My family is into sports but I never was until recently. I always gave my Dodger cards to my Dad so he it a bit bummed now I assume.

I like collecting auto cards non-sport, tennis, golf, wrestling, ttm I like it all and Reds or Bengals are a bonus. How I see it is- a autograph of a famous person? How is that not collectible?

Not really. I have some Hockey cards although I am not a fan.

I collect Football, Baseball and Basketball - In that order which coincidentally is the order of which I enjoy those sports.
