New to the boards

Hello all, have been lurking on these boards for many years and have learned a lot from all of you. Took a long time to focus on what I wanted to collect and have finally decided on collecting PSA 8 and above for 1968-1979 Topps Football. Really thinking this is an untapped area that isn't getting much love at this point. Should clarify that my goal is for 1973 and above to do at least PSA 9 and above with a mix of 9's and 8's for the prior years. Hope to talk with all of you at some point and like to hear all of your opinions. Thanks!

I guess I missed the late nite crowd!

    Welcome naoq!

Good luck on your area of interest!

I'm BB but do collect some FB.

You have been reading if ya know that 'focus' is the most important thing to collecting - the next which is harder is staying on budget!

    Any scans?

BTW - been a Raiders fan since 1970.

Welcome aboard. We need answers, so inspite of your apparent disbelief, we(at least me) are hoping that you have mucho insight. Again welcome to the forum.---Sonny

  • Stone - been a Raiders fan since around 85. Nice to see a draft that made since for the first time since Gruden was running the ship. Hopefully Al will put his faith in the new coach and let him build the team again. To all on the board don't have much to offer for insight at this point just getting my feet wet. Did make a cardinal sin today of letting the dear wife see my paypal balance when I was paying for a card. Apparently she has plenty of uses for money there. Oh well, as long as she can't find the password!image

Welcome, and I agree that football material from the 1960s and 1970s "do not get the love". But, if you are looking to "set build", that is a good thing!

Living in South Florida for 18 years and watching Dan Marino go from Pittsburgh (college) to the Dolphins, I became a true Fins fan!

After Marino and Shula's departure(s), I realized I'm just a football fan period!

It's nice to root for the "home team" but the Dolphins still need "some tooling"! image

P.S. Good luck with your set building and may the Raiders and the Dolphins meet in the playoffs!

I'm not building any football sets but do look to pick-up some "football bargains" when they show-up. Here was a good example last month. I picked this up for $12.80 on "fee-bay"! It didn't get "too much love!" image

Good to see another football collector even if it's a Raider Nation finatic. image.
Us football collectors are a strange bunch and Ryan (Hi Ryan) will like the
company for his Raider collecting. We won't bump heads yet, as I'm still working
    on the 60's. Welcome.
