I believe what sonof@gunk is alluding to is that if you have a PCGS coin for sale, you put PCGS in your title; if it is an NCG coin, put that in the title. Makes things easier when you do seach for a specific coin greaded by a specific TPG.
Now, say you have a coin graded by (XXXX), but add every TPG in your title, then when buyers do a search for a similar date but another TPG than the one you're selling, your coin will be added to the search, even if the buyer did not want that date graded by that TPG.
ADDED: Is it a violation? They're sidestepping a possible violation by adding NGC Census & PCGS Population in their title. They are not saying the coins are graded by NGC, nor PCGS.
When you list a PCGS coin for sale, you should only have PCGS in the title of the listing, NOT any other 3rd party garding service. Example is this.
"1813 1c VF20 ANACS. NGC Census (19/104) PCGS...."
See now when you do a serach for a PCGS 1 Cent coin you will have this ANACS coin pop up on your search, or if you were searching for an NGC coin this will still pop up on your search. What it does is it allows the seller to post a coin for sale on 3 different catagories which are the 3 grading services listed w/o paying for the 2 additional catagories which eBay would charge you for. This is spamming and is an eBay violation.
It seems that alot of people get away with breaking eBay rules and regs, including those that break legal and binding contracts at their leasure!!!
IMHO, When I search for a PCGS coin, I would like to see ONLY PCGS coins, not raw or any other pile of junk I'm not interested in. Its very annoying.
<< <i>They're sidestepping a possible violation by adding NGC Census & PCGS Population in their title. >>
ajia, I don't agree that they have sidestepped a violation. If that were the case couldn't anyone selling a Chevy could say 'faster than a Ford Pinto' etc.?

Yes it is spamming they want as many hits as they can get. Does eBay really care NO they get paid any way it goes. Will it change? Only if some bodies go to the trouble of reporting them. And it takes mulitiple reports. So who is bored today?
You report them to eBay the auction lister does not know where the report comes from. Neat thing is if eBay cancells the auction the lister is still charged for it.

Cool looks like I will report a few tonight then. I find is ridiculous that an auction house of this caliber needs to resort to selling in a manner such as this.
If you don't want to see particular sellers in your searches you can easily eliminate them using the advanced search function with the "exclude sellers" list. I use this for many of the power sellers that I know I could never find a fairly priced/quality coin from.
And you can have any number of searches pre-made. One for slabs, one for raw, one for buy it nows, one for specific types of coins, etc.
You shouldn't HAVE to exclude sellers. I have a bunch of searches that are emailed to me which are all going to be useless for the next few days because it is full of crap I am not interested in.
well if EVERYONE (like I have the reach) just reported the FIRST one, I wonder if they would cancel it.
Of course you have to exclude sellers, that is unless you want to wade through a sea of minutia that takes 2X as long. It's no different than Coin World. Years ago I'd read each ad in detail scouring for coins. These days I flip those double ad pages and many others just based on layout, appearance, and of course the dealer's name.
Sellers like Verypq, EBWcoin, Heritage, Superior and others flop in complete inventories as well as large hunks of auctions. Why should we have to wade through that? One can easily go to their websites if you want more detail. Why muck up the open waterways of ebay if you don't have to.
Yes, it's keyword spamming. However, in this case it is inadvertent. Their listing software simply grabs the title from their own auction site, and on their own auction site they include the PCGS population and NGC census information.

I agree that it probably is inadvertant, but it is keyword spamming. If they get their auctions cancelled, they may just leave ebay, as they are well-known and probably don't need ebay anyway. Just my opinion. Kind of fuuny, I just noticed and thought the same thing a few days ago while perusing their auctions.

Off topic a bit but why would anyone want to bid a Heritage auction threw eBay and pay an extra 5% for the coin anyway? All you are doing is help pay there eBay fees by upping the Bidders premuim to 20%.
And on their own auction site, they have the same problem. Unbelieveable they cannot have an auction where you can serch by the grading service. I contacted them about this many many months ago. They said a better serach feature was forthcoming that would allow grading service to be an accurate part of the search. No such.
I'm in the report them crowd, as I already came across all their non-PCGS auctions on my PCGS search.

these clowns are terrible and very stupid. EBAY needs to be told by several dealers and collectors. also the word should go out to potential bidders. we should bombard them with emails asking them what they are trying to do.

Check my ebay BIN or Make Offers!!
But the example shown looked like the person searched for anacs and pcgs. I say this because the search says "217 items found for anacs pcgs".
But I do hate it when you click on pcgs and get other stuff because they put "pcgs" in the title somewhere!
