Vintage Unopened???

Has anyone here seen this guy's auctions over the last week or so? "One-day auctions" for "raw" high-dollar wax packs which look very poorly resealed, even by ebay standards. Best of all, there are no refunds, either. Hopefully no one here gets burned with any of this crap.

I'm looking at the back, I can't see what shows a reseal. What makes you think it is based on the pack?

I think the better illustration are the scans attached to a previously ended auction of an "unopened" 67 wax pack.....
ebay id #290096194145. Like the old addage says - a picture is worth a thousand words ...... image

Seal on this one doesn't look original, corner folds look suspect, too. Also, if you truly had vintage unopened packs from this era, why the one-day auction? Seller is also from PA and the date in the digital photos of these packs just listed this week are from 2006?

I don't see any evidence that the pack has been resealed. But that doesn't mean anything--the pack is raw and it's just a photograph, and it's very valuable... and there's no evidence that it hasn't been resealed! I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole (not dissing the seller or casting any aspersions on him). Think about what you can do with $500. Buy this probably resealed pack (and even if it isn't, you might just wind up with EX-MINT commons anyway), or buy a mint Mantle with the same money, which is really the money card everyone would hope to get by busting the pack anyway. Unopened vintage material is made to be left unopened. Cracking them open is a waste of money and it destroys history. That's my 2 cents.

When I buy unopened, I focus on cases. For wax boxes, I inspect each pack and always open one before selling anything that came out of it. I don't buy individual packs, even if they are "slabbed". And no matter what I buy, I know the source. Because of the outrageous prices these pre 70's packs command, I haven't been able to purchase anything pre 1970 up to my standards in a long, long time.

for the record, I agree that it looks bad. This is based(on the bad pics) of the corners not looking pristine and the seal appearing not to have an original factory seal. Looks like it is sealed all the way top to bottom. Just my 2 cents.
