Early May pricelist: World, Ancient, and USA type coins, slabbed and raw, some Holey Coin Vest dupli

We've got us a coin roundup!
H'ya! *crack* Head 'em up and move 'em out, pardners!

First, let's do an auction right here on the forums.
I have up for bids one 60-piece lot of world coins dating 1808-1996, fully attributed in flips with printed inserts and binder pages.
There are plenty of coins from the 1800s and a lot of neat stuff. Not too much in the way of silver, but there are a couple of small pieces. Each of these coins should be worth at least a dollar individually, and some catalog for more than that. Many are leftovers from my February "Dollar Daze" sale. These are inexpensive coins for the most part, but they are a cut above your average "junkbox" material and the quality of this lot is better than the last two binder lot offerings I have made in the past month. We are getting into my "better cheapies" now- about the best I would sell in bulk. The remainder will be sold individually.
Bid via PM. Bid price includes worldwide shipping for this lot. Auction closes at 1:00 AM Monday morning, Eastern US time.
First bid: $65.
High bidder: IstilllikeZARcoins
BIDDING CLOSED. IstilllikeZARcoins wins, by virtue of being the sole bidder.
Here are some low-res (75 dpi) preview scans, showing only the obverses.

And now, the fixed price stuff. Scroll down for the USA material- coins are in alpha order by country.
German States (Nuremberg) cityview thaler, 1768, ICG VF25.
Nice medium grey, with no distractions at all. Cool cutouts in the insert, so you can see parts of the lettered edge. (I notice some of the other services are now doing this with the new Presidential dollars.) You gotta love these cityviews- some of them have details you can get lost in. Due to their popularity, they're pricey coins, but VF is a more affordable grade, still leaving some "meat" without having to fork over mid- to high- three figures, if not a four-figure pricetag. $215. SOLD

here is a slightly bigger version of the same picture
Persia (Iran): 2000 dinars (2 kran), 1911 (AH1330), choice AU. Raw. Ex-Dimitri Gotzamanis collection.
Nice toning, particularly on the reverse. (I believe the lion side would be considered the obverse). KM1041. Catalogs $60 in UNC. $44. RESERVED
Picture also taken by Phil Arnold of TrueView fame, in his pre-PCGS-employment days when he traveled in Europe and met Mr. Gotzamanis in Greece.

Peru, half-dinero, 1914/03 overdate, ICG MS67. A nice design, coupled with some attractive toning and booming luster that leaps off the coin. ICG holder has the black Intercept Shield insert, which sets the coin off nicely. $45. SOLD

Roman Empire, silver denarius of the Emperor Domitian, 81-96 AD, Fine. Domitian was the last of the Twelve Caesars.
SR-2736v. Bold inscription and portrait. I wouldn't be selling this, except I just bought a VF for my new Roman Imperial collection. $55. SOLD, shipped 5/5

Roman Empire, Rome City Commemorative AE3, 330-333 AD, Fine+. Constantinople Mint, 18mm, Obverse: VRBS-ROMA, helmeted bust of Roma left, wearing imperial cloak, Reverse: She-wolf standing left suckling Romulus and Remus, two stars above, Exergue: CONSE. RIC 62 VII Constantinople. Sandy desert patina. $9. RESERVED

Russia (Imperial): 1/4 kopeck, 1900 St. Petersburg mint, ICG MS66 RB.
A nice "tiny toner". Ex-Dimitri Gotzamanis collection, Athens, Greece. $52.
The first image is Phil Arnold's picture of the coin, taken back when he was still "Darkhorse" on these forums instead of the TrueView guru at PCGS.

USA: 1837 Feuchtwanger cent, a duplicate from the famous Holey Coin Vest. $15. SOLD

USA: 1930 Lincoln cent, ANACS MS63 RD. I bought this one as a raw MS65 RD, called it MS64 RD and ANACS said MS63 RD. Ow. I'm into it for $25 plus slab fees, which is probably more than it is worth in this particular plastic. $27.

USA: 1830 Capped Bust half dime, ANACS VF30 details/cleaned. Potentially a nice crackout for somebody doing a Dansco 7070 type set, as are a few of these other "cleaned" coins. $85.

Here is my preslab scan of it, when it was raw and I called it VF20.

USA: 1837 USA Seated dime, No Stars, another duplicate from the Holey Coin Vest. Originally purchased from a seller in France. $16.

USA: 1875 Seated Liberty dime, ANACS AU55 details/cleaned. The image below shows all of the coin's faults but none of its selling points. In hand the spots are noticeable, but not nearly as glaringly obvious, since it also has some luster and some attractive iridescence, neither of which showed in the scans. This piece is nowhere near as ugly as it appears here. If I hadn't thought it an attractive coin, I wouldn't have submitted it. Trends for an uncleaned AU55 is $90. How about $50?
(Trust me, I know I say that all the time, but this does look better in hand than in the picture. And of course there is a full return privilege.)

USA: 1875-S 20c piece, ANACS VG10. At least I hit this one dead-on. I called it "VG10, borderline F12", and ANACS agreed with me. I do think the reverse is Fine, while the obverse just a tad short of the mark. A very nice lower-grade type coin. (And yes, those terms are not mutually exclusive- "lower grade" and "very nice" can indeed coexist, as seen here.) $130.
(Admittedly a tad pricey, but I'm into this one for more than trend price- 20 centers can be tough to grab sometimes.)

USA, Nevada Statehood quarter, clad, NGC PR69 UCAM. One of the more attractive Statehood designs, in my opinion. $12. RESERVED

USA: 1838 Reeded Edge Bust half, ANACS AU50 details/cleaned. I called this one EF45 myself, and knew it had been cleaned, but most were. I consider the cleaning to be market-acceptable. I do not blame ANACS for calling attention to it, though, and they gave me five points on the grade. Trends $320 on Numismedia- how about $250?

USA: 1871 Seated Liberty half w/motto, ANACS AU50 details/cleaned. Wow. This one astonished me. Cleaned? What? The coin has olive toning and nice details. Like the previous coin, I thought it an EF45 and got the exact same grade- five points higher than mine, but with a notation for cleaning. OK, whatever. Try telling me this cleaning isn't market acceptable. The coin looks totally original to me. Maybe it isn't- it wouldn't be the first time I've not been able to see cleaning, but this piece has a really nice look to it, in my opinion. Trends $175. How about $140? SOLD

The scan above makes the coin look rather drab. It isn't, really. Here are the previous owner's pictures of it. As you can see, both give it an entirely different look, and I would say that none of the three sets of pictures really nailed its look 100% accurately. It still comes out looking a bit flat. I would say the color is the most accurate in the top picture (my scan, above), but the middle set of pictures (at the top of the image below) also shows some of the blues and greys not seen in my scan. It is both- there are blues and greys, and olives, too. All secondary toning, if you believe ANACS on this one, and I am not sure I do. It looks original to me all day long. But then, I suppose ANACS knows more than I do.

USA: Walking Liberty half dollar, PCGS MS62. Nice white coin with bright luster, which looks far better than the stated grade. I think it is undergraded, in my humble opinion. Looks 63-64, though it must have gone 62 on some tiny technicality. $39. SOLD

USA: 1885-O Morgan dollar, ANACS MS62. I called this Morgan dollar "M63+, borderline MS64". I still think it is a PQ 63. ANACS did not agree, and 62-ed it. Like the coin above, this is another white beauty that I think was undergraded by one point, maybe two. I don't see enough marks on it to justify a 62 grade. This thing has booming luster and a prooflike reverse, and looks 64. Not that you can see any of that in my scans. $40. SOLD

USA: 1885-O Morgan dollar, ANACS MS64. This twin to the coin above made the expected grade. I called this one MS64 originally, and they agreed.
$60. SOLD

<< <i>the public demands more holey material >>
Their wish is my command.
By public demand, here is one of my newps. I might just sell or trade it because I already have a holey octagonal California gold piece. If I don't-, *crack*- out she comes, and goes onto the Holey Gold Hat.
I got this in a trade from somebody who bought it by mistake from Heritage, in a moment of inattention, perhaps. He was horrified to have paid $100 for a holey. I told him it was not worth $100 cash to me, but I was willing to trade for it. If it is worth $100 to somebody who's holey in the head, haha, then PM me. If not, then what do you want to trade? I am in no rush to part with it because it is nicer than my other one, but if you have some Roman Imperial coins I need or something equally cool (and unholed, since I have most of the holeys I need), let me know.
