I found this bidder to be Odd

First I most state the coins in my auction are originals from my collection. But I found one of my bidders to be odd or I'm just ill informed. But when I looked at his/her bid history (feedback) I notice they had purchased a lot of Replica Roman Coins. Is this person just throwing away money or does this stuff have a resale value? I've never bought Roman coins. I have cleaned some before which I found to be fun. Since you do not know what you will come up with. There nice looking but am I missing something.

Looks like a collector trying to fill some VERY expensive holes in his collection with replicas. The pieces look nicer than a hole and are not that expensive. Any of the originals would cost many times more.

Also, they're offered for what they are and are marked "copy."

At $10/coin I see nothing odd about it. To each his own.

Hm. Replicas to temporarily fill those tough holes. Not a terribly bad idea, I think. Of course, when one has as many empty holes to fill as I do at this stage, even replicas could get expensive, at ten bucks per.

I might consider replicas at five bucks per, maybe even ten if they're real silver in some cases. But I am gonna work on filling as many holes with real coins as possible first. Then maybe I might get replicas for some of the tougher ones, until I can save up enough for the real thing.

Then again, maybe not. If one has too many replicas as stand-ins, it could cheapen the look of a collection.
