Beckett grading? How trusted?

After getting these two I have to question it a tad:

image

I understand the first (its pretty, tad OC though), but that second one...
and they were graded within cards of eachother per the serial numbers image

I only ask because I dont do graded too much and you can see where my concern would come in.

This type of Beckett grading is not very trusted. You can expect that these will grade a point or two lower in PSA. This is an economical grading service of Beckett's that is broad, their 10 is Mint or better wich could be a 9 in PSA or lower.
  • This one is better, see, this one goes to 11.

That's actually Beckett's "I'd like a 10 please" service. Just send them anything - really, any card will do - and it comes back in the 10 Mint or better holder.

Unlike the normal Beckett grading which offers the "I'd like a BGS 9.5 please", if you are on the right list.

Yeah, i am not really a big fan of BCCG graded cards and my trust in BGS has faded quite a bit also.

bccg sucks.. its a "lower end" service level offered by bgs..

like stingray said, a 10 doesnt mean "gem mint" it just means mint or better..

I agree BCCG sucks. I don't see why anyone would waste their money grading through BCCG. May as well use GradeMyCards.
  • I see why people would grade via BCCG. Cover up a few stinkers. Make a couple bucks from some tard on ebay.
Hey, if you haven't been a tard how would you know?

BCCG is for kids, novice collectors, and people who are dumb in general. Though some people have mentioned just wanting to have cards slabbed, so maybe that is a good use.
  • This just in...BCCG stands for

    BECAUSE CHILD COLLECTORS GULLIBLE

    BECKETT COMPANY CANT GRADE

    I miss the old BGS.

BCCG is an abomination, a blight on the collecting hobby. BGS is only slightly better.
    Who is Rober Maris?
  • wow, yeah I guess people dont like Beckett and esp their BCCG grading much image

Yeah, picked these up for $1-$2 each and really just wanted the Zimm rookies. I had also ordered Indians cards from the same person so figured the lack of shipping cost increase made um the right price. I dont care about the grades too much, but was really surprised at how OC the two are for getting a 10.

Ok, well thanks for the insight all!

I wouldnt trust anyone but SGC
  • You're safe with $1-2 each. Those cards couldn't have gone for that little last fall. Just get a hacksaw out and take the case off.
