Tickets Popped for my Favre Collection

Well, it only took 2 calendar months for this sub to pop. I guess I still dont understand how they grade stubs, as many of the stubs show only removal wear. No creases, rips, holes etc. here is what psa says about stub grading.

STUBS The same basic criteria (as for full tickets) apply to stubs, with the additional tearing/removal factor of the "audit stub" (by the gate attendant) or, in some cases, a "fan stub." The shape and severity of the tear/removal of the stub, with all other condition qualities being equal, may affect the final grade of a stub. As expected, the more severe and less defined the tear/removal, the lower the grade of the stub. In some cases, no excess tearing (beyond the acceptable limits for a stub) will be allowed within a particular grade. For example, a PSA Gem Mint 10 "fan stub" may not exhibit any evidence of excess tearing at all. Submitters will have the option of choosing not to have a grade assigned to the tickets and, instead, merely have the tickets authenticated and encapsulated. Those tickets will be labeled "AUTHENTIC." Graders also reserve the right, based on eye-appeal, not to render a grade on a severely damaged ticket stub and, instead, apply the "AUTHENTIC" label. That way, the ticket is authenticated and protected in the PSA holder - it simply is void of a specific grade.

So I will have to check when I see them again. I dont care that much about the grades as nearly all are for a Favre Ticket Set that i am working on. So its not like I have a ton of tickets for each game to look through. It was nice to see my Dad and My tickect from the last game in Milwaukee come out good. I was hoping that they would put our seats on the label but they didnt. I will have to check the one that said it was trimmed? And the other that didnt get slabbed because of no holder, makes no sense as I have one that was slabbed and authenticated and there are others on the POP report. So go figure!?!?!

So, let me get this straight. Someone trimmed a friggin/ ticket? Jay, did you attend any of these games besides the one with your Dad?

some of them yes. not all of those are my tickets. too bad i didnt keep them from the start. we have milwaukee season tickets. i have been to all of our games since 92. the pga and jordan are my tickets as well.

i doubt that someone did but maybe, probably to clean it up a bit. i will have to take a look.

I kept all my Packers stubs since the 80's. Is there really a market for stubs? I kept a program and a stub from each game. Who knew. I figured only full tickets would be worth anything.

not sure what the real market is if there is any. however, i would be willing to take any of the favre's off your hands if you would like. they normally sell between $7-12 for home stubs. sometimes more for away games or big events. on ebay there are a few bidders but not that many.

I'll have to check to see what I have. I know I have almost all the home game stubs from 1991-2000. I also have most of the playoff games as well. It's just a matter of finding them!

There is a big time market for the Favre stubs.
Especially his first NFL win stub/ticket and his first NFL start stub/ticket.

There was a stub from the Sept. 27th, 1992 game v. Steelers (Favre's First NFL Start) that sold for $250 less than a week ago.
I would imagine that the Bengels ticket from the week before would grab $150-$200 as well.
I am not sure about any others. I would also be interested in the 1st NFL win ticket (v. Bengels from 9-20-1992), if you have one.

No problem. I will scan them. Not sure about a stub for that game. The ticket takers werent ripping the tickets, just putting a red sharpie line on the back of the tickets. I know that for a fact.

I have some from that sub that were graded as stubs when I thought that they were full tickets as well. Whoever ripped them at the gate did a perfect job of pull off the perferated stub. They looked to me like they were removed from the season ticket sheet, not done at a game. But those were away games and I have no idea as to how the season ticket holders got their tickets.

Right. As I understood the 1994 game, the tickets weren't being torn, but rather marked with a marker (red, black, etc.). The back of my ticket is totally clean.
What I don't understand is that it is the same size as other full tickets from that era, but marked as a stub.
How was it determined that it was a stub and not a full ticket? The tickets that I have seen from that time didn't have a perforation and the ticket would have to be torn.
I know what you mean about tearing it from the sheets of tickets, but it still looks like a full ticket to me.

wow you had a nice turnaround time. ours were logged in at the same time. they must have liked your smaller order better. That ticket looks alot like mine. But I will have to check. What I dont get is why they say there is no holder available for the NFC Champ. Game. I already have one slabbed.

I honestly didn't think they were going to slab the playoff ticket. It shows that they only do regular season and Super Bowl tickets.
I was hoping, and got lucky.

I didn't know PSA would single out the tickets for records/milestones. Like the 400TD ticket, 200TD/25,000 yards. That's kinda cool.

BTW, who trims a ticket? I realize that using a razor blade on a perforation is considered trimming by PSA. Is that the case? I mean, this is a stub, afterall!?

well, then i will just have to tear the bottom a bit then and send it back. the it wont be trimed anymore. the only way i could see that someone trimed it was to look nicer, not to scam anyone. i think i paid around $20 for it if memory serves. since it was an away game i will pay more than for home games.
