Hmmm...not an easy translation but the back says "German emergency and disgrace Taler"

The front is "The black disgraced dog and cultural dishonor in the Rhein area." I'm pretty sure the word schmachhund, even though the literal translation means "disgraced dog" means something like the term we call bast**d. Where it comes from I don't have a clue.
    Prost!

Why step over the dollar to get to the cent? Because it's a 55DDO.

After looking closer I messed up, it's not Schmachhund, it's Schmach und, meaning "disgraced and"

Ok more info I found...it was minted circa 1920 by Wittig Friesen in Nuremberg. I think the artist's name was Lauer. It was minted after WWI as propoganda to consolidate the nation because of the Rhine Ruhr occupation during the time of the Weimar Republic. It depicts a French-African enslaving or raping a white German woman. 38mm bronze.
