Recycled designs

Many similar designs for coins and medals get recycled over the years but here's an example of what appears to be an identical design shrunk from 63 to 41mm. The first is a Crystal Palace of 1854 (HK-8a although British!) and the second is a Crystal Palace photographic award medal from 1891. I like the design so much, I'm on the lookout for an even smaller version to fill out a "set."

Beautiful design!

It looks like there are a few minor differences: the detail in the foliage standing behind Britannia (?) is more lush in the larger medal; and the cogs or spinners in the background (above the helmet) appear to be very different in the smaller piece. Am I seeing things?

Here's a larger lightened image of the smaller medal. I now wonder whether any differences are due to design or striking issues.

Remember, you can always collect things like this and put holes in them later!
Sure, you need to have big $'s (60 of 'em in this case) but who's counting!
