Welcome! I signed up in 1989 and the club has become a second family ever since.
The benefits include:
Subscription to Penny-Wise, the award-winning journal full of collector interactions and original research. Access to the EAC Library, including a full set of the glossy color Bill Noyes photos. Access to educational seminars and potential scholarships/research grants from the Garvin Endowment. Participation in the members-only EAC auction. Invitation to regional EAC meetings as well as the annual convention. Full (not partial) access to the EAC website, and the abilty to subscribe to the online "Region 8" Newsletter. Your IQ increases 20% (or at least it will seem like it).
I daresay no other member-oriented club has a collegial, sharing spirit to the extent that EAC does -- they pioneered it, going back to 1967. Others are close (C4 for one), but I think EAC is special.
Other folks who are interested in membership, feel free to PM me!
I recently joined and spent part of this past Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with EACers. I would add as an intangible benefit that with the possible exception of southern gold collectors , there are among the nicest, friendliest, and most interesting coin people that I have been around.
I am a member and looking forward to all of the Penny Wise issues from the past on CD (supposedly coming out later this year). That will provide literally hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of reading pleasure and research ideas/opportunities. I cannot wait.

Longacre, I talked to Jon Lusk and he says that the back issues of Penny-Wise will definitely be out this year, he says SOON! They will be in PDF format so they should be easily viewable on all systems.

I've been a member of EAC since 1984.
I guess I'm one of the 'old timers' there now.
