1864 Indian Head Cent question

I have a few indian heads, but this one is my oldest. It's also about twice as thick as the other indian heads I have, and I don't know if that's normal for that year. In the pictures, the penny on the left is a 1908 cent, and the one on the right is the 1864.

Your 1864 cent is a copper-nickel cent that should be thicker than the typical IHC of later years. Until midway through 1864 the copper-nickel composition, and the thickness, were standard for this series.
