BU Cents and Dimes

The mint offers the satin finish and other coins as UC Business strikes - but not the cent or the dime (and this year maybe not even the nickel)....does anybody have a good source for getting BU cents and dimes just released from the mint?

  • actually they do offer cents and dimes as satin finish... just do a quick search on ebay and you will see.

I think what was meant is that the cents and dimes aren't offered in rolls as have
    been the other coins.

The answer is probably just that there isn't enough demand. This will likely apply
to the nickel as well soon.

I always ask at my bank and at vendors (grocers/ convenience stores, etc) for a roll of cents. Each year goes by and I'm lucky to get a couple of rolls to cherry pick. If you really want them, it's best to contact your local armored car service or one in a town large enough that feeds the bank branches. They will often times be the Point of Contact between the federal reserve bank and local banks and that's the only way I know how one might go about trying to get these business strikes in bulk.
    Welcome to the boards, too.

If you want to obtain a large quantity, ask your bank if they will order a bank box for you, and you'll pay the shipping. In a week or two it will arrive, and you won't have caused them much trouble (as if you walked in off the street and bought out all their change). The NF strings rolls are just like the US mint rolls, except they don't say US mint on them. A caution is that sometimes when you order a bank box, you might get recycled coins from various years--so check it before assuming it's all 2007.
