Buffalo Question

Am I correct in assuming this is a D/D?

    Can't quite tell from the photo, but I don't see any evidence of an RPM.

  • If you have access to a copy of "The Complete Guide to the Buffalo Nickel" ( a must have for any Buffalo collector) ... it has a nice page with pics and descriptions of all 8 varieties of the 1938 over/mintmarks...

    Frankly, it is hard to tell from the pics...but it looks like a little something going on on the top of the D.
    Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free image
  • Pics aren't quite clear enough, but I don't think so. I have a few D/D and D/S 38's and they are fairly bold and easy to identify.
