Yeah, but... we Lincoln collectors like 'em RAW, baby!

Not to say that some Lincolns should not be slabbed (and I myself do buy some slabbed though wind up cracking out most), but I'm willing to bet that a higher proportion of Morgans in slabs are lower grade uncs (62s/63s) of which there are plenty, but for Lincolns there aren't many dates in those grades that benefit greatly from being slabbed.

Also, Morgans had a tendency to be kept in bank vaults or set aside out of circulation by many people as "special" coins, whereas Lincoln cents were coins of commerce that generally saw lots of circulation. As a result, the relative proportion of MS Lincolns compared with the entire mint run of Lincolns is much lower than the relative proportion of MS Morgans compared with the entire mint run of that series. (Not to say that MS Lincolns are scarce by any means.)

Lincs are overpriced now, considering how many there are - especially red ones, many of which have been made red.

I would say that many, many lower end unc. lincoln cents are sitting in Whitman and Dansco albums in sets that people have put together. For most Lincolns, I don't think the population reports are very relevant as a measure of supply.
