Another wonderful eBay experience - NOT

Watch out for this person - at least if you are looking for Bust coinage.

This is what I bid on and supposedly won:

This is what I got :

When I notified him(her?) that I got a different coin than I bid on, the seller just called me an
idiot and a whiner. (spelled "winner" in his response)
I didn't even bother trying to send it back for a refund ....
I guess it's just part of the cost of doing business on sleazebay !!

Since this junk coin dealer obviously sent you the wrong coin, I think you should insist on returning the coin, AND seller pays for shipping both ways. If he does not agree, he deserves a negative.

He already negged him.

I believe the pictured coin was an O-107 - granted not a real nice one
I already have an MS O-107, but I wanted a lesser example for my album - a quick reference -
since all my slabs are tucked away in a SD box.
I only paid $65 bucks for it, AND - coincidentily, I needed an O-110(what he sent) for the same reason. The
coin I got is probably worth $45 or so - so I don't think it is worth the time or effort to try
for a refund. As noted by Russ, I did leave a NEG feedback (my first!).
Just for grins - here is his response when I notified him. I thought / hoped that maybe he just made a mistake,
but this is what prompted me to leave him a neg.
"Sure, idiot, sent me the photos of what you received. But before you do, compare them with the photos I put on eBay in my auction - you will find that this IS the coin I sent you - exactly as my picture dipicts. My pics are pure, not "doctored" in ANY WAY! Now then, let's forget about your 23 varities of this coin - send me the photos of the coin you received, then we''l see who's telling the truth and who's just winning!
Lucia"
This was my first contact with him.
Hi,
I received a coin from you today, but it is not the
one that was pictured on eBay, that I thought I was bidding on? Do you still have THAT coin?
thx, GAB
then I sent him this:
The coin I received is a different variety of 1836 half dollar than the one that was shown on eBay.
(There are 23 different varieties).
If you want me to send you images of the coin I received, and explain the differences, I can - but I don't know how to send email images thru eBay.
I can be contacted directly at gabarnett5@cableone.net
thx, GAB
I finally sent him the pictures, once I figured out how, and showed him a few of the places to look at the differences.
I haven't heard back since I sent him the pics, and left him a NEG
In any case, take full advantage of the follow up feedback allowed when he negs you back. This way you get a 2nd 80 characters to explain what a crook he is.
