I have sent 9 requests to Spring Training so far. I just got my first 2 back today. This is the second year in a row that I have gotten Molina. I think he is way overdue for a Gold Glove this year. This makes 512.
This makes 517. I received a couple of team cards with Diego Segui added. Then, there was a Spring Training success with Jeff Suppan, and a home success with Dustin Hermanson.
Mr Schmidt passed away in March of 2007, which was the month that I started sending out Cardinals TTM. I don't think I could have gotten him anyway because on sportscollectors.net, it says that he really hasn't signed since around 2002 because of illness. I got this one on Ebay for $9.99 plus shipping. This makes 521.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
I sent Tony LaRussa 2 different cards in 3 different envelopes hoping he would sign each of them. He only signed one per envelope, but that's ok. I got two back yesterday and one today. I need to send 3 more and I will have all of LaRussa's Topps cards. This makes 537.

I got a few more in this week. Something I started doing with the cards that have the players listed on the actual card (1956 front, 1957 back, and 1958 front) is researching the players that DID NOT have Topps cards and sending the team card to them. If the player is so obscure that they are not on sportcollectors.net, then I will get their address from my Meiselmans list and send them a request letter and a couple of index cards to sign. If they answer "yes" on the request letter, then I will send them the team card. One such player is Jackie Collum who is pictured on the 1957 team card, but had no regular Topps card. He answered "yes" and also signed my index cards.
As stated above, Jackie Collum added his name to the 1957 Topps team card.
Dick Schofield added his name to the 1958, 1968, and 1971 Topps team card. Yes, he was with the Cardinals 3 different times.
Rich Folkers added his name to the 1973 and 1974 Topps team cards.
I thought I would share this TTM Success card a 1960 Topps Stan Musial autograp!!!! Probalally my favorite TTM auograph so far. Only took Mr. Musial 7 days to autograph and he also included a COA from himself. I have just sent off a 61 Koufax, 69 Namath, and a 59 Ford i hope of getting them autographed also. Thanks
Uhhh, you up for a trade? That's a nice Musial. When did you get that? Did you pay or did you luck out and get if for free? I have tried to get Musial about 5 or 6 times and I have only gotten the comlimentary postcard. I even sent him $20 cash the last time with a 56 team card this his teammates signed with a hand written not. He returned it the cash with the poscard.

This project has been the most enjoyable thing that I have done in this hobby. I have an album full of signed Topps Cardinals cards. However, it is slowing down drastically. I still have a few more signatures to get on team cards and I can still do a handful of multiple player cards, but other than that, I am running out of options for free. There are still a few older players that charge $3 and $5. I will probably send a few of those off. Another option is sending a few off that are not very consistent. That would be taking a chance. I would probably only do that if I have a duplicate of their card.
Now, I have all of LaRussa except for 2008. He has been great. He has signed them all, although one at a time. This makes 584.
Today was a nice surprise. Red Schoendienst has not signed TTM in several months for anyone. I tried a new technique that I thought of and it worked like a charm. I got these back in 7 days. Please check out my "Bowman" thread. He also signed my 48 (rookie), 49, and 50 Bowman cards. I now have every Bowman card of his autographed.
I had sent to Ken Daley several months ago and he signed a few, but kept my 84 Topps Traded, 86, 87, and 88 Topps. So, I decided to send him those cards again. He signed 3 of them, but kept the 86 Topps again! He must like it or something. I will try just the 86 Topps in a few days to see if I can get it on a third try.
Tom Bruno added his name to the 79 team card and signed the 79 prospects card. I am going to try to get Frazier and Simmons to sign it as well. Mr Bruno also sent a short note thanking me.
Vern Rapp added his name to the 77 team card.
This makes 623. Hmmm - I wonder if I can get to 700?
This is the only one today. He kept my 1973 Topps. The last time I sent him a 1973 Topps, he kept it and sent a 1976 (he was in a Red Sox uniform on that card).
Is it common for players to keep some of the cards you send? The Ken Daley 1986 Topps thing would make me giggle, but having a '73 get pinched would bother me... anything before '69 would probably give me fits.
Nolan Ryan & Edgar Martinez are my favorite players...

Steve Swisher (Nick Swisher's dad) signed 3 cards after 193 days.
I got the Nelson Briles on Ebay for $0.01. I did have to pay $4 shipping. Not bad for $4.01 total. He passed away a couple of years ago.
This makes 534.
