NEWP - 1761 Osnabruck sede vacante medal

This one just arrived today and I wanted to share. It is a 1761 Sede Vacante medal from the german state of Osnabruck, attributed as Kennepohl 384 / Zepernick 236. The picture is a tad fuzzy, so I will need to practice reshooting this later.

Thanks! I must admit I am trying to figure out the background on the crests myself.

The heraldry/coat of arms motif is very similar in design to the reverse of this Swiss shooting thaler.

All the various cities, counties, etc. that made up a certain state maybe?

Looking at that thaler a bit closer, it's weird: all of the coats of arms on the obverse have a number above them, but not in seemingly any kind of order. On the other hand, four of the coats of arms on the reverse do NOT have a number above them.

Interestingly bizarre... ???
