also depends on if it is a doubled die. There are so many coins that exhibit mechanical doubling from that era.

You probably wasted your money, George. It's unlikely that it's a doubled die.
The mercury dime series is the most prone to strike doubling, of all US coins.
You could likely put a complete set of strike doubled mercs together.
There is no premium for these.
Next time put up a picture here so we can look at it first.

I had a feeling that it's going to be just machine doubling too, but I'm not familiar enough with the series to know. Sorry.
