Need some game-used uniform help, please

Just pick up a pair of Jose Lopez game-used pants from the 2005 season. Embroidered in the waistband is "4 Lopez 36-42 33 05". Of course I can figure out the 4, the Lopez, and the 05 but what do the other numbers mean. Length-waist? 33? The pants are manufactured by Majestic. I am trying to photo match them but they are the Away pants and I am having problems locating good pictures from that year. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have two pairs myself; neither read the players name but instead read as follows:
12-35-35-99 ~ this I always took to mean #12 Roberto Alomar, 35X35 size (they are size 35 waist after all) and 99 to be the year... Then I read the other after your post
23-36-36-01 ~ no biggie, #23 Elis Burks, 36X36 size and 01 being the year until I noticed he pants are a size 44!

Ok, NM ~ figured at least mine out myself ... My Burks have additional tags sown in with "-8 width" and "-1 length". If we subtract 8 from 44 we will get 36 and I'm guessing that the pants were 37 in length until altered as it would then be 36 as well.

So I ask, do your pants have additional tags inserted? What is the waist size on the original company tag? I'm thinking you will probably find your tag to break down like this:
#4 Lopez, 36 W from 42 manufacturing size, 33 length, 05 the year.

Sizing down from a larger waist to begin with could make sense to get a nice snug tailored fit, it almost has to be the case.

36-42 are, as you said, probably waist and length. I believe the 33 is an inventory number (which are seemingly random), but I'm not positive. You might want to try gameusedforum.com

I think you got it right. After my post, I found other examples on line from 2005 with almost exactly the same tagging. I found some pictures that show he uses an ankle guard while he is batting and you can see the wear on one pant leg from it. The pants also have a team repaired tear on the rear pocket. I was hoping to match it up but no luck so far.

36 is the waist size, 33 is the length.

42? perhaps a mislabeled inseem? (24?)

Ahh... you cut the pic off just enough where we can’t see the "Majestic Authentic" size on the tag. What size does ‘that tag’ actually say? I want to make sure my figuring is right for possible future purchases

Makes perfect sense if you do the math on the inserted tags ~ and I can only think (esp if yours don’t have the pant size on the original tag) that your tag means “42 made into 36”. Lopez isn’t Big/Tall enough to wear a 42 Width or 42 Length even if pulled up, and it’s important to have the W/L information inside so nothing else would make sense.

Speaking of tags -I have a few chopped up tags from the All Star Game (GU jersey swatches) from 05 BDP and wonder what the full tag looks like. Anyone have pics or can point me where to go? Its majestic.
