Naaaaaaaa. That definitley wouldn't be the same . . . Besides , I have been looking to see if there are any like it . I did see one, actually two . . . A gentleman names Angrist , I think his name is has a 1927 and a 1932 , absolutely beautiful baseballs, there were in a book called Smithsonian Baseball , a look into some of the most insane private collections . The author of the book, his last name is Wong I believe , his first name escapes me .
Great book, but that is the only place I have seen another one in it's condition . You have to see this guy's collection of memorabilia , you'll just faint .
That ball deserves a made up word, as none I know of can describe it.
Thank you very much for sharing such an amazing piece with us. I hope it means that much more to you that it was passed down to you by your grandfather. I hope you cherish that one for life

Needless to say, that ball would be practically impossible to replace - and certainly it's irreplaceable to you sentimentally, since that is the particular ball your grandfather had. I say it's a keeper until one day when the money is needed, then, sell it at reputable auction. The money raised in this way wouldn't do anything but be a great tribute to your grandfather, IMO.
Good morning everyone . . . I just wanted to say , thank you for all the excellent replies . My wife was reading them this morning and says " Did you see what everyone wrote ?" She especially got a kick out of the Made up word, " FLIMFLANITUPERFLOUSCRIMINIDOOOPERS !!!!! " That is the word I was thinking of too I have recently taken it out of it's single cube and put it inside the home plate display case , the only thing I don't like about it is the amount of light that is able to shine through, so I am going to be looking for a display case similar to this one , only with UV glass/plastic to keep the direct and reflective light out .
Dude, please, please, please be very careful with that ball.
Personally if it were me, I would have it wrapped up and not exposed to any type of light.
Awesome ball
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
That's it then . . . I have heard everything from direct sunlight will fade it { That one is a no brainer } To any kind of light will fade it , even the light from a lightbulb, to reflective light . It is definitely not worth taking any chaces with as I want it to last forever and ever , I want someone to look at this ball in 200 years and have it looking the exact same as we see it today . So Mr. Stown I know you are well known here and also well respected and liked , from the posts I have read , Back into it's box within a box within a box within a box within it's secret hiding place it goes , along with the 58 . Only to come out to go to those NY Yankee games , because that's the way it has always been .
