Do NGC pics make a coin look worse than they really are?

I sumbitted 5 coins to NGC last month, and got my results as well as pictures of them via email. One of the coins is a 1885 o toned Morgan. The pictures that NGC sent made the coin look really bad and scratched up. While the coin does have contact marks, they are not as bad as NGC made them seem. And I know its hard to photograph toned coins, but if they are charging for it, they should get it right. I know other grading servies do a good job of this (ahem ahem). So I took a pic myself (just so its clear, I AM an amature at this), and the NGC pic is below. The coin has nice red, pink, green toning with hints of blue. Do you think im right...or..well...Maybe im crazzzzzzzzzzy ;-) (Insert Gnarles Barkley tune)
Edit: i will try to reshoot a pic this weekend

To each, their own.
I've typically seen NGC photos for white silver coins which are washed out and make the coins look flat IMO.
NGC still has a ways to go before they can rival TrueView.

NGC could do a better job.
