  • Nineteenth Century gold is always difficult; however, did this person go dirrect submission or did he/she have a dealer screen the lot? Someone needs to improve their submission "eye."

  • 8 coins in a submission means there is a good chance that is someones first submission using their collectors club 8 coin grading voucher.

A number of sales on eBay are for coins BBed at PCGS but with a PCGS problem insert indicating they weren't BBed for being counterfeit. I wouldn't be surprised if some sellers of coins known to be counterfeited do this on purpose to get the insert.

Wow....I would hate to have a result like that. I wondered if the person overpaid for the gold.

typical results if you buy raw from ebay using bad pictures...
i do not think this person needs a dealer, they need to do some
research and understand grading.. before going shopping again.

I hope that was the free submissions or it was pretty costly. I agree with ouch!

There but for the grace of the fantastic help I've received on this board, go I. That could easily have been me on my first submission a few weeks ago.

  • I just had one like that. Except mine were Barber coins. Also I sent mine to ANACS. In fact I was surprised because a few I thought were cleaned came back no problem!

I saw that. Very sad. For the amount wasted on grading that guy could have bought himself another problem gold piece.
