Will board members here be handing out Official Endorsements of ANA Governor candidates?
The ANA election is fast approaching, and the politicing has already started. I already see incumbents trying to distance themselves from certain persons and groups, I see scandal and scurrilious ethical accusations against a governor, and I also see the typical political glad-handing that occurs a few weeks before any general election (which, of course, the gladhanders will conveniently forget their promises to their contituents seconds after they are elected).
I do not know how many people we have on these boards, but we are a pretty passionate group. Does anyone know if we, as a group, will be endorsing particular candidates in the upcoming election? Should the candidates make a particular effort to reach out to us to give us details of their platforms? Should we try to summarize and debate their platforms here, with the ultimate goal of endorsing one or more candidates? I am taking this election seriously, and an endorsement of a candidate should not be given lightly. We can either do this as a group, or maybe each member would like to announce which candidate(s) they endorse and why. What do you think?

Good idea, Longacre, but PCGS will probably stay out of it. Now, for the forum members, if you vote for someone (like me), then that vote is a vote of confidence.
<< <i>AS PER REQUEST AND FOR PRIVACY REASONS,
INDIVIDUAL NOMINATIONS WILL NOT BE POSTED HERE. >>
Is it dangerous for individuals to publicize who they are endorsing?
With that information, I'd encourage everyone to vote according to their own vision of the ANA and what it should be.
<< <i>What I would like to see is a summary of where all the candidates -- both incumbents and challengers -- stand on some of the issues facing the ANA which are most on the mind of the membership. >>
Is that information available online anywhere? If not, should we start putting it together?

I didn't write my thread as clearly as I could have-- I meant to ask whether individual members will be endorsing candidates, and ultimately we can come up with a collective endorsement based on what everyone thinks. Thanks for having me clarify.

Longacre - I know that there are quite a few of our forum members who have said that I will be getting their vote.

I think that would be worthwhile.

I've seen that too. Good luck!

Oops!
Got it corrected (typed a bit too fast).

That sure would be nice. Also, just as we read between the lines in eBay ads, if anyone finds interesting things certain candidates might be communicating by what they are not saying or anything like that, it could be useful. Even a gag order restraint can produce revealing responses from strong-willed people.

Well, if anyone wants to know my position on the issues the ANA is facing, one only needs to do a search on these forums. And if there is something that I have not covered, please feel free to ask.
Also, I am working on a campaign "commercial" which I plan to release before the Central States show next month. And there is the possibility of a second one real soon as well.
