Card Sellers: New Seller-Bashing FB System Begins Next Week

Next week, the EBAY feedback system in the US will
be revamped to allow bad-buyers yet more opportunities
to bash good sellers.
Many sellers may now have the impetus to explore the opportunities
to launch their own free-standing websites. Sellers who are currently
paying EBAY $100.00 a month, can do much better on their own;
they will also not be at the mercy of the new flood of crazy/bad
buyers that EBAY has allowed to take over and ruin the venue.
As is the case with ALL "improvements" on EBAY, sellers are harmed
and bad/scamster buyers are well served by the new FB scheme.
Here are EBAY's FAQs on the "new and improved" FB system:
Frequently Asked Questions
What changes to the eBay Feedback system is eBay making?
eBay is introducing two changes to the Feedback system. First, in addition to leaving an overall positive, neutral or negative Feedback, buyers will now be able to leave Detailed Seller Ratings for the seller on four aspects of a transaction. Second, the item title and item price for each Feedback will be visible on the Feedback Profile page so that buyers can more easily determine the item price and type of item associated with a particular Feedback.
What are Detailed Seller Ratings?
Detailed seller ratings provide more details about the member’s performance as a seller. You can find them at the top of each member's Feedback Profile.
When buyers leave an overall Feedback rating (positive, neutral, or negative) for a seller, they also have the option to leave detailed seller ratings in four areas: accuracy of item description, communication, shipping time, and shipping and handling charges.
These detailed seller ratings allow buyers to provide additional information about the transaction, and provide a more complete picture of the member’s performance as a seller.
The rating system is based on a one- to five-star scale. Five stars is the highest rating, and one star is the lowest rating. Detailed seller ratings do not impact the overall Feedback Score.
Will these changes replace the existing positive, negative, neutral ratings?
No. The Detailed Seller Ratings do not replace the current Feedback system. A buyer must first leave a current Feedback rating and comment before leaving Detailed Seller Ratings.
How will Detailed Seller Ratings be displayed?
Detailed Seller Ratings will only be represented on the Feedback Profile page with stars. The specific percentage will not be shown. In addition, the stars will be rounded to the nearest 1/10th. So, if a seller has a score of 4.35, they will receive 4 and 4/10 stars.
Why has eBay added Detailed Seller Ratings?
Detailed Seller Ratings provide buyers with more information when evaluating seller performance and provide buyers with an opportunity to more accurately rate a sellers' performance.
How do I leave Detailed Seller Ratings?
You can leave detailed seller ratings from the Leave Feedback page. If you choose to leave detailed seller ratings, you must leave them at the same time you leave your overall Feedback rating and comment.
The rating system is based on a one- to five-star scale. To choose a rating, roll your mouse over the stars, and review the rating text to the right of the stars. Click the star associated with the rating you’d like to select.
Sellers will not be able to see the detailed seller ratings you’ve given them.
Will sellers be able to identify the Detailed Seller Ratings left by buyers based on the number of ratings and changes to the stars?
It may be possible for a seller that only sells a few items a month to identify when a buyer left them a rating, but it will be very unlikely for three reasons; First, the Detailed Seller Ratings will be delayed, second, the averages are only displayed in 1/10ths making it unlikely that a single low score would drop a sellers score once they have received many ratings, and lastly, since over 70% of buyers left Detailed Seller Ratings during testing, less than 30% did not. A seller with multiple buyers leaving Feedback will not be able to ascertain which buyer left Detailed Seller Ratings and which did not.
How many ratings must be left for a seller before the average is displayed on the Feedback Profile page?
A seller must receive a minimum of ten (10) ratings before an average Detailed Seller Rating is displayed on the Feedback Profile page.
What other changes are taking place on the Feedback Profile page?
eBay is adding item title and item price to the comments section of the Feedback Profile page, changing the header to highlight the most important links buyer's look for, changing the default view to "From Buyer's" when a buyer is coming from the View Item page, and adding a "View Item" link to the page to make it clear to members how to find the item details.
What are the benefits of Detailed Seller Ratings to buyers? What about sellers?
Detailed Seller Ratings benefit buyer’s by allowing them to more accurately rate sellers on a particular transaction. They also provide buyers with additional information about a seller prior to making purchasing decisions.
Detailed Seller Ratings provide sellers the opportunity to differentiate from other sellers, thus attracting more business based on those factors that our buyers rated most important.

"eBay is adding item title and item price to the comments section of the Feedback Profile page"
I guess if a guy buys a .99 card and is unhappy you can weigh it against the guy who bought a $5000 card and loves it.

To see how it works in practice, you can visit the Autralian and
Euro EBAY sites. They have been the test-subjects for the past
120-days.
Also, check out the forums on those sites to see what the
sellers really think about the new system.
