Tutorial for posting an actual link in eBay

How do you have the actual link show up in eBay's description versus the text of the address?

Thanks!

  • I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Ebay doesn't allow hotlinks in their description.

    My thinking is they don't want people to be able to add a link to their photobucket or other imaging site. If people did this, Ebay would be out the 15 cents per picture they charge in listings.

    Of course, Ebay will say they don't allow it for other, less greedy-sounding reasons...

    <a href="url of the item you're linking to">name of the link for instance click here</a>

    that usually works for me, but DONT link to an outside sale. They will kill your auction

    eBay does allow some links, such as pictures. I sell used computer stuff and often link to the web site of the company that makes the product for the product description. I also self host my pictures so I often have picture links inside my description. They will delete listings that link to commercial sites or affiliate links though.

    Basically to link to another site you put your text between these HTML tags:

    <a href="www.sitename.com">Sitename</a>

    To link to pictures use this tag - replace the text between the quotes with the path to your pictures:

    <img src="www.sitename.com/images">
