2 Washington $'s from the P.O. ........

with upside down lettering in my change from mailing out a couple of packages.image

I know, no big deal but, kinda cool for face value and the only ones I've even looked at...makes me wonder why people are buying them on the bay and paying shipping for them too.

Both 07-D's.......

  • no such thing as upside down lettering :-) The orientation of the edge lettering can be in eiother direction and that is normal

I still don't understand the whole e-bay thing. Most every bank seems to have an abundance of these now. Not to mention the post office the way you got yours.

'zactly!, this why I cannot fathom the e-bay frenzy for this "error"image

The bank can't get you P and D -- only one or the other. That might explain some of it...

Im getting quite a few daily in the register, but I think alot has to do with that there is a PO just down the way from me that gives them back out of the stamp machine.....

I think it points out the difference between a "real error" and an "ebay error". A real error is one which knowledgeable collectors would agree is an actual mint error.

An "ebay error" is any coin which looks in any way unusual based on the photo in the auction. Doesn't have to be an actual error.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
