2007-w ASE SOLD OUT??

mint rep just told me that the 2007-w has been sold out by subscription. tried to get her back down on statement but she insisted that the mintage will be 100,000 and they are accounted for. If accurate-WOW.

I just went to the Mint web site and it shows that the proof version is backordered, but the uncirculated version does not show any current backorder for their subscription plan.

subscriptions will still be taken by the mint site since its a yearly issue now,..if they say the 07W is sold out, the orders will be still be taken for future issues anyway and wont show up on the website

There are many new coins coming out...They have the Presidents wives and the Presidents and the buffalo's...they have many more coins this year than in the past years...could be true!

I think that a mintage of 100k which is less than half of the reverse proof is unlikely. I think the mint will sell until the orders slow down more like 500k.

I cannot tell you how many ridiculous things I've been told by employees at the 1-800-USA-MINT call center (they aren't even Mint employees, it's another company that won the Mint's customer service contract).

I think they are only taking the first 100,000 by subscription and they have met that reserve. All others will have to wait until they are available to get one or whatever they are buying.

Like a bunny I went in and was able to subscribe for six so I don't understand that if they are all sold out why I could get additional subscriptions?

Edited to add: The order showed in stock so I guess I'll just stick with my original subscription for 10.

That is a totally BS story that you were handed my friend- I order 3 this morning- mainly for my grandkids- 1 is born the other in july and one for grandad- order went threu without a hitch. I was told I will have them in the next 2 weeks- funny thing that they are all sold out....

I tried to subscribe to 10 sets 2 days ago but it took forever for the order to go through and it said "gift" and didn't charge me, and I didn't get an email about expected shipping date, so I don't know.

Subscriptions placed today for this product have a status of "order is in process" rather than "order has been shipped", the latter of which is routine when placing subscriptions prior to the release date.

Something is going on over there at the USM, maybe the amount set aside for subscription has been reached.

This is very encouraging.

100k is less than half of last years mintage, so I doubt that one. Still, I'll be sure to order the minute the become available for direct order as I do sense some will be left out in the cold.

I picked up 25 in single so I can get first strike and send in one at a time. It did cost me 4.95 per box for shipping but you cant lose on seald box's, they are not going to release them on friday they will let us know with a e-mail is what they said from the mint.

The subscription never shows any cost, it's free, but the coins will sure cost. 21.95+ this year. Don't spread that 100,000 mintage rumor......coin vault will have them up to $500 next week.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the Mint has changed their minds on the 2007-W SAE's. They will not be striking any this year after all - don't ask me why.

BUT.

Isn't there always a but ?

But the hardworking Mint employees did strike up 4 coins which they will dole out by lottery. So get yer orders in - you won't get what you think you should get BUT you will be entered in the drawing for one of the 4 - 2007W BU Silver Eagles. These things are going to be rarer than those 1913 Nickels.

There have been, and will continue to be, individual winning issues...but the speculation brought on by irrational exuberance about the release of All Things Mint is going to end up pretty badly for many (if not most) new issues that have considerable mintages.
