This one's all over the place

So far we have a $5 set sitting at $30 being bid on by newbie bidders...

However, 1989 did have some great cards like J.R. Richards, Rollie Fingers, Thurman Munson and the Pedro Guerrero and Alfredo Griffin rookie cards.

These players all have the capability of someday being a hall of famer" >>

~ first how in the H would Griffin, Dibble or Guerrero ever get into the hall without buying a ticket at the front door? But more importantly...

If that set actually has an 89 Jr. then its worth can not be measured; the demand would be through the roof!!! Why do you ask? Well, there was no such card issued in the 792! If one turned up it would easily best the Gordon cuts from last year, at least the actually planned on making the Gordon.

It is worth $30 if it actually contains the missing 1989 Topps Griffey Rookie (not the traded version), Reggie Jackson, Tom Seaver, and Rod Carew in the Factory Set.

Still have mine somewhere in a closet, kinda an ugly year IMO.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!
  • hahaha look at that, I just automatically spell checked for him without even thinking.

"Comp Ability" does take a whole new meaning than "Capability" though. If people could get in based off "Complimentary Ability" they might actually have a chance... All you would need would be skills other HOFers were maybe missing. Both Guerrero and Griffin did have some speed so they would compliment someone with none, pinch runners can come in handy image

BTW, I also didn’t realize it on my first post even though I mentioned them, but this set is getting better and better! Not only does it hold the rookie card of Griffey that doesn’t exist but it also holds RCs of players who had been playing since 1976 and 1978! If Topps put one of their little “future star” banners on Griffin and Guerrero cards, they too might be one of the only ones in existence!

So in total you get the Jr, Griffith, Guerrero, Reggie, Seaver and Carew cards which are all the only knowns in existence ~ that aint bad for $30 bucks at all!

  • "compability" -- not familiar with that word.

Perhaps it's a hybrid word of sorts, blending "no chance in hell" and "when hell freezes over" with "no fkn way."

  • P.S. And shipping cost is not specified -- he'll probably charge the newby $18 for "careful first class shipping due to weight."
