Do you have a local collectors club???

Just wondering if anyone has a group of people that make plans to meet every month or two to buy/sell/trade and just have good discussions about the hobby. Or maybe even groups that make group purchases for discounts? I don't have one in my area but thought it would be a neat idea.

I was just discussing this idea with an old dealer friend of mine last week. It is something we used to do locally and I had a blast each time. It's a great way to bring back the trading in trading cards.

I agree Ted...as long as the people running the meets weren't in it to make money but trying to all help each other.

Exactly! The only money that exchanged hands was if we wanted to buy off another collector. We also had a mini auction at the end of each night which was alot of fun. But most of the night was wheeling and dealing to help each other out.


I live in Maine but make the occasional trip to Mass to visit family.


On a side note, my wife and I got a huge laugh from your signature!

I had thought about trying to get a club together to meet and maybe make group purchases for items that enough people were interested in. I have one shop in my area that would be GREAT to work with when it comes to that kind of stuff.

I was hoping you were in western Mass because I would make the trip for some club meetings.

It sounds like a lot of fun. Trading would be a blast!
