ANACS
In 1989 ANACS discontinued issuing photo certificates and began encapsulating coins in plastic holders. A year later, the ANA board of governors sold ANACS to Amos Press, publishers of Coin World. In March 2005, Anderson Press, the parent company of Whitman Publishing and H.E. Harris, became the proud owners of ANACS and its rich and noble history. Today, ANACS stands ready to reclaim its rightful position of preeminence as America’s oldest grading service.
NGC
NGC was founded in 1987, and for coin grading, its opening heralded the introduction of a new standard of integrity. As NGC has grown to become the leader in third-party grading services, we have maintained a steadfast and uncompromising commitment to this standard. The knowledge, integrity and dedication of NGC's team of grading experts ensures you a level of grading consistency unparalleled among grading services. NNC
NNC is an independent third-party coin grading service which does not buy or sell coins, nor does NNC appraise coins in terms of monetary value. National Numismatic Certification, LLC. cannot guarantee the liquidity of any coin graded by NNC. NNC certification of a particular coin cannot provide protection from the risks inherent in any market for such coins, if such a market exists.
Limitation of Liability for Grading: All parties understand and agree that the professional opinion required in grading coins involves NNC's subjective judgment. Consequently, National Numismatic Certification, LLC. makes no warranty or representation and shall have no liability whatsoever to the customer for the grade assigned by NNC to any coin.
ACG
Accugrade went on to establish the industry standard by which all coin grading services are operated today. We submitted the design for the slab holders for ANACS and Blanchard and Co. PCGS has paid us $100,000 for our expertise, patents, and inventions. With more than 20 million coins certified and growing by more than a million coins a year, Mr. Hager's invention has generated $300 million in certification fees to those grading services since 1985.
The Accugrade grading system is based on strike and luster not on Mint State. With more than 12,000 Accugrade books sold to date, they were the number one selling books in their field at that time. Alan Hager has conducted numerous seminars on the Accugrade strike and luster system throughout his career

Except NNC. They don't even bother. The guy who runs it is far too busy slabbing his own coins to bother with yours or mine!
From their website
<< <i>PLEASE NOTE: We apologize for any inconvenience. But, due to computer problems which caused a loss of some of our data, NNC will be unable to verify coins that were processed between December 15, 2006 through February 13, 2007. The information we will not be able to provide includes date, mint mark, denomination and grade. >>

I often wonder if I'm better off slabbing my coins myself?
