Memorable NFL draft moments

USA Today has a feature today and this one caught my eye:
New England taps eventual two-time Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady in sixth round of 2000, the 199th overall pick
and behind QBs Giovanni Carmazzi, who never plays, and Spergon Wynn (1 TD, 7 INT's total).
The Pats struck gold with that pick and since then everyone is trying to find that overlooked player with great potential.
Is there another Tom Brady hidden in the draft this year? Could be.

Jealousy rears its ugly head.

Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

not long after a deal was made sending him to the Giants.

Me naming my son Peyton instead of Ryan Leaf is one of the smartest decisions ever made.
Actually, my son was born 6 months before that draft, but still.
The Colts taking Edgerrin over Rickey Williams seemed wrong at the time, but it turned out that was a good pick.
As far as bad overall choices, seems liked the Colts took a guy named Steve Emtmann (sp?) first overall one year. Who???
Rick Mirer
Jeremy Stevens

I've read that Peyton Manning came to the combine with a notebook full of questions and actually interviewed the Colts more than they interviewed him, and they made up their mind right then. Leaf was unprepared and missed the interview due to a scheduling mishap.
