Memorable NFL draft moments

USA Today has a feature today and this one caught my eye:

New England taps eventual two-time Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady in sixth round of 2000, the 199th overall pick
and behind QBs Giovanni Carmazzi, who never plays, and Spergon Wynn (1 TD, 7 INT's total).

The Pats struck gold with that pick and since then everyone is trying to find that overlooked player with great potential.
Is there another Tom Brady hidden in the draft this year? Could be.

The Vikings not making their pick and some team jumping in front of them.

Seems like the good teams always get "lucky" don't they?

The Colts taking Peyton Manning over Ryan Leaf. One of the smartest decisions ever made in the draft.

Oh but lets not forget who NE took ahead of Brady in that same draft:

    Adrian Klemm
    JR Redmon
    Greg Randell
    Dave Stachelski
    Jeff Mariot
    Atwan Harris

......Brady may of been a steal, but Patsies got lucky!

Mike Ditka wearing dreadlocks at the 1999 Draft where he traded, (all his picks for next year plus) for Ricky Williams.

    Mark
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

The Packers taking Tony Mandarich #2 in the 1989 draft, possibly the biggest NFL bust ever. It would have to rank in the top 5 busts
    at least.

Eli Manning holding up that Chargers jersey when he was drafted by them and pretending to smile, now that was priceless. Of course
not long after a deal was made sending him to the Giants.

Me naming my son Peyton instead of Ryan Leaf is one of the smartest decisions ever made. image
Actually, my son was born 6 months before that draft, but still.

The Colts taking Edgerrin over Rickey Williams seemed wrong at the time, but it turned out that was a good pick.

As far as bad overall choices, seems liked the Colts took a guy named Steve Emtmann (sp?) first overall one year. Who???

I've read that Peyton Manning came to the combine with a notebook full of questions and actually interviewed the Colts more than they interviewed him, and they made up their mind right then. Leaf was unprepared and missed the interview due to a scheduling mishap.
