    That is very nice. I have never liked breaking out PCGS and probably won't ever do it. An occasional NGC everything else I will with no problem though. Very nice coin
  • i'm kind of surprised that was considered to be natural toning
  • Can't go wrong with choice AU bust coinage--attractive and reasonably priced

    This is the kind of look that PCGS and NGC love to slab, but I doubt highly that many of the CBHs that look like this are original at all. Again, loads of folks love the look, but the coin was dipped and retoned over time.

    Looks like that one was thoroughly cleaned, and then spent time in an album. Personally, I don't like busties with that type of white center, but the detail is nice..

    Boy that's an awfully good coin to be breaking out and putting into an album. Sure hope it doesn't get any rub from the slide.image

    Can that mylar slide really damage coins that much? one of my friends was wondering if Dansco could make a 7070, but with round shells in each compartment so the coins dont move around, and dont get any rub. I thought it would be a good idea.

    Yes it can as well as prints while placing it in your album. My album has F/VF coins in it, I don't mind putting in lower grade coins but a high grade early halves I'd want a little more protection but that's just me.image

    It's in a good holder at a good grade that will bring strong money. I'd certainly want to get the coins for a whole roll before I put it in the album so your not sliding it back and forth all the time if your inclined to do it. image

    Although I don't collect Bust Halves, I have always admired them.

    Its true that alot of them have been dipped in the past, I think that statement is "a given";
    I just never realized that this "bulls eye" toning would only occur if the coin were dipped and
    then placed in an album [ ie: Waite Raymond ] which had a high amount of sulpher in the
    cardboard. Wouldn't an original - undipped - coin receive the same type of toning
    in the same type of album ?

    I'm always learning something new every day here.
