Buffalo Proof 70, Are you kidding me?

Has anyone noticed the ebay prices on 2006 Buffalo PCGS proof 70 coins? First strike coins go for $2,700 when bullion is $690 and you can still buy the coin from the mint for $800. Meanwhile the PCGS proof 69 barely go for $800. Can someone please explain this?

It deals with the perceived value of the finest known. Why be mediocre when you can have the best? EVERYONE has a PR-69, but a true 70?

Also it deals with folk's ego in the registry game.

For me, it is not worth it. I would be happy with just a PR-68 or 69 for the melt price.
