Anybody know of a way to remove permanent marker from a coin?

...without damaging it?

I would try acetone first. It may be able to dissolve the marker.

Highest % pure alcohol would probably help also--that is one of the best ways to remove permanent marker from your hands also.
Some coins are just plain "Interesting"
  • I don't know about highest %, but rubbing alcohol is more than enough to get it off.
