A well written editorial in the recent edition of Coin World
I am not a big fan of the editorials in Coin World. However, the editor outdid herself this week with a fine piece of writing. I shudder to think what is coming in the next 51 weeks, seeing that a full bore effort went into producing the current edition.
The editorial deals with a technical interpretation of the Robert's Rules that the ANA Board is taking, and the fact that they are not accepting Fanton's resignation. The CW editor then outlines three scenarios that are both comic and tragic, as she puts it. She ties in a scenario of the Board commanding Fanton to appear at the meeting to determine Fanton's fate as a board member, how that might affect the jury in the Kagin hearing, and how the governor succession rules work. It's an interesting editorial and finally concludes that the whole ANA situation is looking more like a tragedy than a comedy.
For those who have received the April 30th issue of CW, what do you think of this editorial?

Longacre, I have to concur with the article 100%. And I feel that the "politics as usual" mentality of the regime knows no end. If anything, the actions of the regime reads like a daytime soap opera.

Wait until you see the Coin Rarities ad in this issue. It's a fine one.

<< <i>A soap opera is being kind. I can't believe the board's position that because Fanton requested to resign, he is not allowed to until the full board votes on it and approves it. Until then he is an indentured servant. >>
Seems that the regime has a hard time understanding what the word RESIGN means. They need to look at a copy of Webster's Dictionary to fully understand what it means!

I got the CW issue today and I agree with the editorial. Mr. Fanton has resigned, thus he should no longer be on the board. What would the ANA Board's position be if, God forbid, Mr. Fanton had died? Would they still consider him to be on the board?
