Picked up a Namath Auto today

I'm on a mini vacation and was checking out some garage sales today (my wife's favorite past time) and found a 1991 UD Heroes Joe Namath auto /2500, I bought it hoping that I could use it for trade bait. I went to one of the two card shops here (Sioux Falls, SD) and asked if it was worth anything to him or what kind of trade value he would give me for it. The owner basically said "nothing", I expected some type of offer, even if it would have been low. Is Namath not that collectible or did I just hit a bad shop? I'm going to check the other shop tomorrow, but he's not known for being very generous. I'm not expecting a ton in trade, just something I could use for my personal collection (Rice or Young).
Another option would be to get it graded and I would like some of your opinions on what it would grade, so when I get home, if I still have it I will post a scan.

No recent e-bay sales that I see. Prolly has $50 in trade value. Nice find at a garage sale.

<< <i>Nice pick up. Idon't have a current Beckett but I would guess it books around $100-120.

2deuces is absolutely right. The current Beckett is $120.
That's a real nice pick up while the wife is rummaging. Did you get it at a garage sale price?

$66.00 + $3.00 shipping.
Sold it for $75.00 in 2006.

Is this him?
Although it's a nice card and it's actually signed on the card, not on a piece of tape, it's not the newest shiniest thing and that takes away from it's eye appeal too.
Also you have a PM

<< <i>The dealer might have been looking at the /2500 and compared it to all the 1/1 and /100 or less autos available these days. If he didn't bother looking in the book, or didn't know the card, that might have led him to decline to offer.

Jim, I think it's a great card because it was one of the first sets to include auto's as inserts. today, every pack has an auto of somebody. Back in 1991 if you pulled an auto it was a really big deal. I like the personally and of course you can't go wrong with a Namath.
