When it comes to coaches and the NFL draft, all quotes should be taken with a grain of salt. But Vikings coach Brad Childress said nothing Thursday to dispel speculation that the team could take Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson with the seventh overall selection. -- St. Paul Pioneer Press
If the Rams' infatuation with Ohio State receiver Ted Ginn Jr. is a smokescreen, it's an elaborate one. Rams coach Scott Linehan announced Thursday that Ginn would arrive in St. Louis late Thursday night and would meet with Rams doctors and coaches today. This comes on the heels of the Rams' chartering a small jet and sending at least five coaches and team officials to watch Ginn work out April 11 at Ohio State. -- St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Scott Linehan said Thursday he would consider acquiring Miami's Ricky Williams as the Rams' backup running back behind Steven Jackson. Linehan coached Williams in 2005 when he served as the team's offensive coordinator. -- Miami Herald
There have been rumors about a possible impending trade of Jets LB Jonathan Vilma because he's not a perfect fit in the 4-3 defensive scheme. "Jon is on the team. << <i>Local Cleveland talk show has source that said the Browns will take Brady Quinn at #3. With Charlie Weis and Romeo Crennel such good friends, rumor has it Weis has told Romeo he is a cant miss prospect. >>
Yeah, same with Tim Couch. If Brady Quinn is heading to the Browns, then his career is pretty much over before it starts. Great city and great fans but that franchise is hopeless.
