made it larger. Yes I have a white balance the camera is a D70 and this picture was taken through a scope with the scope removed so that I could get the halagen lighting on the coin.
Put your WB setting to Preset. Put your lights on and put either a gray card or white piece of paper under the camera and follow the instructions in the manual to set the WB.
The white balance on a D70 is super easy to calibrate. First, move the coin and put a white sheet of paper where you want to shoot.
Then, hold down the WB button and rotate the command dial until PRE is displayed in the viewfinder
Now set up your lights etc. how you will use them to do the photography. Just make sure you're shooting a white sheet of paper and not a coin. Press and hold the WB button until PRE starts flashing, then press the shutter release button to measure the balance. The display should read "good" if you were successful, if it says "no good" then your lighting is too dark or light. Adjust that, then try again.
Now try taking photos, the white balance will be set for you.
Looks like the bottom part of the coin is a little out of focus. Either the coin or the camera is tilted a little. Shooting on a copystand/tripod or handheld?
