Thoughts on building a 67 set

I'm thinking about putting together a 67 Topps set. I've always liked that design with the full pictures, and those white borders really stand out with good centering.

I certainly won't build it in all graded, I'd rather not pay to have a graded common, and I'd prefer to have most in a binder anyway.

If you were building it, would you do it all raw except for the HOFers? I'd probably go with PSA 8's for those, everything else raw.

What do you think? How would you do it?

Also, who's a good seller to look at for raw NM 67s?

Thanks for any thoughts! If this works out well I might have to try the same with 1963T or 1969T.

That is the way to do it IMO.

    Only the HOF's are graded.

I did that with my 55 set.

I also would not worry if they are 8's as 7's can be as nice.

I'd buy lots on ebay and sell off doubles.

You can build a nice set in months as opposed to years this way.

    Good luck

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

I'd be happy with just a raw mid-grade set personally. Since even mid grade 1970-72 sets are at least $1000. image

Regarding the grades, I am getting the stars in 6 and 7 for my collection. All grading is subjective and based on one's pocket book. Personally, 6's are very sharp for the era and are not too heavy on the pocket book. They also hold their value.
