Thank you for trying to help out in this area of life and trying to make a change for good . Many years ago, I was severely damaged before birth , by a government approved program that to this day is denied to ever had existed. I have lived with the damage, every day of my life. We were labeled even back then " As the children with NO HOPE " .To ever have dreampt about how it could've or should've been , a hope with no basis , was replaced very early in my life by the desire to live my life realistly. Later in my life I became a christian , which finally allowed me to hope for something better in the end.
I've looked at this autistic issue very carefully and cannot help but believe the evidense is damming beyond a reasonable doublt. We seem to always be given the choice called Hobson's choice , which is modified to mean in this case, the blame or causes of this problem can be any thing but the real one. Do we really desire to help prevent this disaster from ever happening or do we protect a flawed industry?
I know quite a few children that have their futures altered ( Never in the positive )by this problem. I've seen the marrige strain this problem has caused. I've seen great courage, especially from the moms that haven't given up. I've seen and heard many , many tears from devastated and crushed parents that never once dreamed or hoped that this disaster would ever occur. I've looked at these children and can't help but wonder what might have been if different descisions had been made.
To watch the government and the medical indrustry protect their industry, makes me very sad. I guess to severly damage thosands of children and destoy their families is worth the risks and the billions that are made. To always hear " We are not responsible. Prove it if we are ", again brings much sadness. There are very very few groups that even attempt not to shield the industry.
I think its safe to say that no one has ever wished this for their child they loved nor has it ever made anyones life easier. The REAL causes to this tragity need to be found , even if it brings down the industry that brought it on.
By the way, I'm married , we have 5 sons, I live a very productive life, inspite of the ever and always presense of the disaster from years ago. I attribute this to the help of those that helped along the way and the faith that found me later in life.
If a group rears its head against the industry , its amazing that the charge that is always slammed is that the group is in it for the money. Imagine a multi-billion dollar industry, bringing that charge against their opponents. THINK TWICE. ORG is a group among a few , that really tries to get to the root of the problem. I do not agree with every idea that they come up with, but when it deals with the devestating damage that we are trying to find the causes for, I have found them and a few others to be open and honest .
Thank you for your efforts in your auctions. C. S. Lewis wrote in his book the "Final Battle ", that what a man truely seeks for, they will find. If people are REALLY looking to do research in the autistic arena, the will turn over every rock, even the biggest one. Do we truly look for the causes or do we protect the industry? THINK TWICE.ORG is a good beggining.
