They are legit. They are what they are; repackaged, mostly midgrade cards. The packs are probably easy to search as well which is probably why few with stars hidden in them ever see eBay. If you can pick them up for the equivalent of the value of 12 mid grade commons from that year, then they're well worth the money. Unfortunately there seems to be an endless supply of people willing to pay many multiples for those packs.

LOL, I also remember when Murphy was selling these as authentic Topps rack packs several years back. I'm always shocked at how much money these racks go for. They were not packaged by Topps and in most cases they were packaged years after the year of issue by Lord knows who. As gemint stated, they're worth about as much as 12 mid grade commons from that year, though some of them do have stars showing, too.

  • Legit ? Did Topps package them?

I actually thought it was Mark Murphy's repackaging. Guess not? The cards, legit....the packaging, as fake as a flying monkey.

SO sad. I remember back in the day (80's), if you were known (and it was a rarity) as a pack repackager, EVERYONE who was anyone wouldn't ever buy from you again.

Even as a kid I remember that.
