Help! I'm a newbie!

I've been holding on to a coin for several years that was given to me by a relative. I would like to sell it. The coin is a (I believe) 1900 Morgan Silver Dollar. Where do I begin?
Any guidance or a point in the right direction would be much appreciated.image

It is highly likely that your Morgan Dollar has little value above the silver content. That year, for all mints, doesn't become valuable unless it's in higher grade uncirculated condition.

Don't clean the coin in any way whatsoever. If you do you will decrease any value it may have exponentially. Also, don't put your fingers on the face of either side of the coin, hold it by the edges.

    Need some pics.

What is the MM? P, O, S, O over CC?

    No MM, designates Philadelphia

    1900 P in 65 $225

    1900 O in 65 $225

    1900 S in 65 $1800

    1900 O over CC in 65 $4000

    1900 O in GSA holder, in 65 $400+

Welcome to the boards, a wealth of info here, pics would really help.

  • Thanks!!image
  • This is where I need help. The coin has been kept (for years) in a box. So I really don't know exactly what I actually have. What does 1900 P in 65 mean? How do I get the pics of the coin on the forum? I think that would be a good place to start.image

Hey Vette, a 65 means mint state 65, out of a possible 70.

There are no Morgans in a 70 holder, as far as I know.

This is a pic of what I consider a 64. Nice luster, decent strike, and good eye appeal.
