This is the first one of these auctions I've seen with decent stuff in it. Usually the guy will sell off his high-dollar stuff individually, then sell the "shop". End price chould be around $150K.
Not true Favre- In the one showcase you can clearly see RCs of Payton, Montana, Jim Brown, and Marino. He really concentrated his scans on the autos and modern RCs which is a mistake. If he showed the Ryan RC and 2nd year, the Gibson RC, and all the other stuff in that showcase, he'd get more bids. Plus all of the commons boxes mixed with the fact that he apparently doesn't grade much means there are probably a lot of gradeable cards in the collection.
Also, the pictures make the shop look really small, but I count at least 4 different showcases- two full of vintage. He should've taken broader shots to give the bidders an idea of exactly how much in terms of quantity they're getting. And get rid of the music.
My guess is that this "shop" will be bought by a big dealer that will piece it out and sell it as spare parts. If there's a lot of gradeable stuff, there could be a lot of money to be made.
I wonder if the $6500 Reggie Bush auto he BOUGHT last week is included in the collection??
This is at least the third time I've seen this auction up for sale on eBay, I recognize the photos from the outside of the shop and the "Take me out to the Ballgame" song that plays. Each time there is no reserve, so the previous deals must have fallen through?? Just how many 1 million dollar collections does a guy have otherwise??
<< <i>$6500 for a Reggie Bush auto, c'mon that is just crazy. >>
Or how about a nice Sidney Crosby Upper Deck Patch auto for $5000? Or maybe you prefer a sweet Upper deck '03-'04 Exquisite collection card of Dwyane Wade for a cool $7500?
LOL I saw those prices in a Tuff Stuff mag and was

Ditto
I remember seeing the same place and same auction at least 3 times also. A lot of off condition vintage and a lot of new stuff. If you open a lot of high end packs, just about every other pack will give you a 1 of 1 card.
Why even take a pic of a bunch of 84 Tom Seavers or 89 Score Randy Johnsons?
Oh I see. So he just compiles collections of stuff he picks up at a good price then puts it on ebay as an entire "shop". Not a bad racket if he can profit.

Edit: "I will let the pictures do most of the talking from here on out. Obviously I only pictured the cards I had in the display cases and pictured some of what I came across as I packaged the collection into storage. Keep this in mind while viewing the collection. SOME OF THE STORE PICTURES WERE TAKEN BEFORE THE SHOP CLOSED AND SOME OF THOSE ITEMS ARE GONE BUT YOU WILL GET EVERY ITEM LISTED AND INDIVIDUALY PICTURED PLUS ALOT MORE. "

lots of pics of crappy modern inserts
I bet the rent will be ridiculous at that place.

Part of my contract of being a member here at CU stipulates that I use the word "weasel" in a thread at least once a week.
