Price value for 1980 Topps super PSA 10

A real nice seller wants to sell me a card that I'd love to own. Does anyone know the market, not SMR , for a 1980 Topp's Super PSA 10 ? Any help would be highly valued. I don't want to overpay but also would like to make sure a fair price is paid to the seller. PLEASE HELP if you can.
Thanks, Sonny

1. Who is it a card of
2. What is the pop. report
3. These cards size make them expensive to grade. I believe the lowest grading submission on a card bigger than 3.5 x 5.5 (which these are) is express grading which cost about $50 per card for 2 day service and these cards usually do not bring that much.
That said, it is very tough to say. They are very tough to find in high grade, but unopened is plentiful, and there are not a hoarde of people that will pay premium prices for those things graded. I would pay $100+ for a Schmdit in PSA 10...but I am probably a freak.

<< <i>i would think $100-150 for a low pop star (ie. ryan, rose) is fair. with lo pop being (1-3). >>
They are all low pop right now. PSA only started grading them somewhat recently and as mikeschmidt said, not many people are willing to pay the grading fees. There is a ton of unopened out there but there are only 12 that have graded 10 so far. But that 12 is out of 36 total that have been graded. Not so tough to find in high grade if 33% have been graded 10 so far.
I would think it would be more cost effective to pick up a couple of boxes and take the 2 or 3 best of the star you want and pay the $45 to get them graded. You may end up with more than one 10 and the whole thing will likely cost you less than the amount of the already graded card.
