A problem- need help- yes its a powerscrewer thing..UPDATED in 1st Post

In a nutshell- won a coin on the bay- 4/01- paid 4/02 via praypal, waited like a nice guy for 4 days to let it sink in- sent an email asking seller when item will ship (1956 ms66 Roosie NGC old slab)- get a reply - on vacation will ship when I get back!?!?

I wait 3 days send anothe remail STATING I paid via paypal and you have 7 from payment to ship item or face the consequences- get reply 3 hrs after- telling me do what I have to they are on vacation.
I r PO'D!!!!

I check theirt site- now showing in their store that they are on vacation til 4/17!!!!
I send EBAY a non performing seller along with ALL email- EBAY is apologeticand upset- they will contact.

I want the coin- no matter what- I PAID for it- and want it.

Do I neg once I get said item or do I say screw it and notify the Feds of fraud activity
THEY have accepted the transfer of my $$ and I have not rcv'd item. (I have really good friends in right places- just waiting for something like this)- then do I go after the MEG group- for allowing such crap

I will out the crap seller in a few days- I want my coin...

Well, I fell to the bottom of their list to send item for filing a NPS on them- and their Power rating in a 97.9, 10 negs in the last month. Poor kathylinda12333 - I DON"T regret the NPS nor the fact that I will get my money returned - I will find another 56 Roosie in a 7+ holder.

Sorry about your situation, Maybe someone here can help you more then me!
But I am a newbie also and from what i have experienced with most of my E-bay Auctions I have won. I always contact seller
when i make payment, Most never reply back , some do, I usually get the coin in a couple weeks I thought it was a normal
thing for most sellers just to sell and never respond back I always ask for insurance and always they add it
I Would like to see if anyone
has any advice on this .

I'd certainly try to avoid listing when I'll be away, and can't say it's great customer service, but at least you haven't really been lied to or cheated. Slow? Yes. Should you be pissed? I'd be upset. But, this is better than no contact and no hope. The seller should be back today--ask for expedited shipping, and see what they do.

    Should be back today, right?

Might not have been avacation. Perhaps an unexpected family tragedy. I bought from someone who had such a problem, real too, and they were right on top of it all when they returned. Perhaps just a little more patience, but not much more, will help. Good luck.

I never put auctions on near vacation time, that's just poor planning. But I think you may be just as likely to get a refund now as to get the coin.

I really don't understand the point of this post? If you feel the seller was out to defraud you then seek legal action. If you want to leave a neg then neg him. It is your money and your aggrevation. But I am guessing most people will probably say it doesn't sound like a big deal and you will get your coin, etc. That will probably just piss you off more. Just do what you think you need to do and get the frustration out of your system. Life is too short to dwell on all the negative expierences we have, and besides its the positive ones that make the ride fun! I mean cmon, if I remember correctly (I could be wrong) didn't you recently have an addition to your family!!!! image Now THAT is worth getting pumped up about! image

After gathering myself, I must apologize for laughing.
I am a contractor ... I often wait weeks to get paid on jobs that have been done for weeks.
I know it must be frustrating, but just write him every day. A simple note that says: "Just touchin' base"

If after you get your coin and it's all you WANTED, leave a feedback that the guy "delivered as promised". Because if it is what you want, it's worth waiting for.

Ditto what Joe said. I waited six months to get paid for a several thousand dollar order to a dealer, a former TPG owner... ya Think threats and innuendo would have expedited his payment? Not a chance. Patience is a virtue.image

I really don't think it is fair to rip the OP on this. He is simply going by the service agreements of eBay and Paypal. He feels he held up his end of the auction under these agreements and the seller has failed to. To offer opinions to be more patient are one thing but to make jokes and call names is another. That is why I said before, I don't understand the reasoning behind this post.

    Way too much overreaction!
While he shouldn't have listed while on vacation, it happens.
Should he have mentioned that in the listings? Yes.

I have actually been holding off a few listings because I am going on vacation, but, I still don't see your problem.
Seller was in contact with you when you contacted them. Doesn't sound like they are trying to jerk you around, doesn't sound like fraud.

IT'S A COIN for godsake!!! It isn't life or death!
Why does it matter if it arrives in 1 day, 3 days, 10 days, or even 30 days if you know the circumstances behind the delay?
You have stated you WANT the coin so you don't have much choice but to wait.

I try to be pretty reasonable as a seller, as well as a bidder, but I do know if I were them, and saw the BS you are spewing, I would refund your money, block you, and relist the coin. I wouldn't want to put up with it.

Good luck with whatever you and the seller get to work for you both.....I have a feeling that they won't be leaving you (positive) feedback first as you seem to be practicing fire making on a wooden bridge with them

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

So what? You are way over reacting. Take a chill pill. You should wait two weeks to get your coin, then file a PayPal dispute. Youare not the only person this has happened too and eBay and PayPal have processes for dealing with all of this.

Geez if this statement is a "Bash" you sure would have had fun with me about a year ago. Personally I do not touch newer slabbed NGC coins without seeing them in hand. Older NGC slabs certainly are more desirable. I guess it is all in the way you grade personally. My standards are more toward the standards that PCGS uses.

Please carry on with the original problem this guy has and not PCGS versus NGC. Thank You.

While the seller erred in ending an auction when they could not ship, you should relax, take a deep breath, and ask yourself....

I am truly hurt by this Roosevelt Dime arriveing two weeks later than it should have? If the answer is yes, go see a psychologist. If the answer is no, let the water roll off your back and relax.

If he has a good rating, I would just wait until he comes back. I am out of town once a month, and put my store on vacation setting while I am away. I try not to time my auctions during that time, but do sell items from the ebay store while I am gone. So far, no one has complained. However, I have not tried to leave for 2 weeks.

some very interesting thoughts came out of this.

For those that are sellers- next time you must take what you said here to heart when a BUYER waits 5, 6 - 8 days to send you payment - especially when you have it in your listing to pay within x number of days.

This was an auction, and believe this if you will- the seller had a similar situation about 2 months ago - went on vacation right at the end of an auction- I normally give the benefit of doubt to a seller in certain areas- but if you are holding an AUCTION, you need to honor what you are selling- that simple.

    Bad biz decision- most definitely.

For those of you that want to block me from buying- I will privately send you a message with my ebay name- but do you think that will resolve what was at issue?

by the way- Ebay did contact me via phone, and we did discuss the fraud or possible intent of it- i'm not going to waste my time in doing this nor the folks that I have close relations with- I threw that out to get reaction.

For the most part- the coin in question means little, it was/is the ethics of being a wannabee wether it is ebay or as a dealer with prominence- you will get more business from me as a buyer if you keep the line of communicae open.

DON'T hold an AUCTION that you know you won't be able to fulfill in a timely manner should you decide to go on vacation.

and for those that tried to make me look oput to be the bad guy- you might want to take a goood look in the mirror and put yourself in the same place- how would you feel.

Just wait, what's the big deal if your shipment is delayed a few weeks? You still want the coin don't you and I assume you got it at the price you wanted. Try buying a new car that's not on the lot and see how you get the run around.image

My auctions say that payment is to be sent within 10 days, but if a buyer writes to me and lets me know it will be longer, I don't have a problem with it.

I remember when I first started buying coins by mail as a kid- it wasn't unusual for it to take three or four weeks from the time you mailed your payment until you to received your package in the mail. At that time, many mail order businesses advertised "allow 4 to 6 weeks for shipping". And if you didn't like waiting, don't even *think* about ordering proof sets from the mint- you'd send your payment in and get your coins six months later, maybe.

<< <i>This was an auction, and believe this if you will- the seller had a similar situation about 2 months ago - went on vacation right at the end of an auction- I normally give the benefit of doubt to a seller in certain areas- but if you are holding an AUCTION, you need to honor what you are selling- that simple.
