I just reuse the thousand or so ones I kept from previous purchases due to my packrat saving compulsion. Couldn't imagine ever actually buying any.

Let me know if you find anyone selling small quantities (100 or less) of the sticky corrugated mailers for lower prices than this.

    Thanks,

    WH

Wayne, Amos Press sells these to Coin World subscribers at $0.25 each, which by my calculation is 16% cheaper, unless there is reason to believe that shipping isn't comparable.image

coindeuce, I checked them out. Their minimum shipping charge is $5.99 so we have them beat on small quantities. On 50 count orders, our all in price was cheaper in the eastern zip codes I checked. For CA zip codes, they were 1.29 cheaper. On the 100 count size our lower price more than offset the slight shipping difference. So, just lowered the 50 count size by $1.30 to fix it so that Coin World subscribers on the west coast ordering 50 pieces will now still get a better deal with us. That sort of made the 100 count price out of line so I lowered it by $3.

Russ, what's the minimum quantity to get that price? If it is the 1000 of the small size for $135 in your link above, let me know when you're ready to reorder and I'll save you some money on that quantity as well.

  • Now Russ I figure that you probably have a lot of nice coins, but if you are able to use half cents to pay for supplies then I grossly under estimated your collection!

Thanks, Wayne. I just got a case of 1000 in, so it'll be about five months before I'm ready to order again.

I have two PO's locally that won't let me insure regular white envelopes , business size or stationary size.
These mailers are of no use to me. I have to use bubble envelopes.

Setting aside for a moment that your postal clerks have their heads up their asses, I use both the safetymailer and a bubble envelope. If you use one with a regular envelope all the post office has to do is run it through the sorting machine and you'll have a cracked slab.

I bought them direct from the manufacturer at Russ' link above, about three years ago. I sprang for the case of 500. At the rate I'm consuming them, I may stipulate in my will that they line my casket with them for safe transport to the Other Side.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not a big fan of paying any sort of handling charge to a seller and receiving recycled packaging in return. In a couple of particularly egregious instances I withheld feedback over it.

The post office where I used to live was like that, too. On the plus side, I found that I could buy bubble envelopes cheaper than Saf T Mailers anyway.

I always put the coin I sell in a Saf T Mailer and then in a bubble envelope. I have never had a coin arrive where the slab was cracked.image

I personally don't care for the Saf T Mailers. Often hard to get open and I always wonder about whether it scratches the holder in transit.

A less expensive alternative - and far superior IMHO - are foam pouches. I bought mine from Uline and will never go back to the sticky carboard. Most useful for single coins, they are super easy to use, reusable, don't scratch, and cleaner. They run less than 9 cents each for the 3x4 size.

I hate those freaking things. They are a pain in the butt to get open!
