1860 Peru 1/2 real 1860/59 DDO?? (pics)

Just picked this up, so this is the sellers photo. While this isn't particularly valuable, it looks like there is an 1860/59 overdate, as well as some heavy doubling, which almost makes the coin hard to look at!! Anyway I thought it was cool so I thought I'd share.

MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

Yup, looks like doubling to me. I don't know why World Errors are not a popular collecting area - there sure seems to be good number of them around... Nice pick-up!

I have my suspicion why World errors are not a popular collecting area.

I think it may come from a feeling of superiority of product from the US Mint as opposed to other worldly mints. US collectors may have an attitude that our mint is the best in the world and has (or had ) the highest quality standards on earth and therefore US Mint errors are "rare" and sought after as opposed to "those second rate countries don't know how to make coins and so errors are to be expected"

Given the GW dollar fiasco however......
