    No.
I also would not buy a 1921 SLQ with just the 1 digit readable.
I've seen lots of examples of both of those on eBay and just moved along. I wouldn't even pay bullion value for them, but that's just me. I'm sure some others would. To me "key date" means just that; you can actually read the entire date!
I never thought that growing old would happen so fast.

That happened to me. A good friend found one in a large lot of bulk silver, and sold it to me for G-VG bid. The rest of the coin has F-12/15 details. It's a key date and tough to come by. You have to understand the series and it's shortcomings, so to speak.

Yes. This date/mm combination is well known to have weak dates. As long as you can tell the last digit is a three, I would have no problem with it. I would pay regular prices for it, but when you look at one with a full date, expect to pay a premium.

image But if I could find one that would look right in my set, is affordable and has a full date, that is the one I would buy.

if it was priced right and in a slab by the top companies yes i'd buy it.i'd rather though save up for a full 4 numbered date that too was in a slab as that is one quarter with a trend.i'm happy with my 21' and next on the list is the very quarter you speak of

NO! the coin's a much over-rated "rarity" in grades below xf, which is where that coin would fall. PASS, & cherry-pick something better.

  • This is the main reason I don't collect the series. I have a AWESOME 17d type one. Typical bungling of charles barber. his stupidity of raising the date caused this mess. One of Morgans last acts as chief engraver was to try to correct barber's stupidity
